Description
These two artists from Bogotá came during the summer of 2018 to Calipso Residency and created “482” a set of 4 posters with linoleum hand carvings inspired by the things they saw and heard in Cali; dogs, palm trees, pineapples, black panthers posters, tags and many more. One of the figures that always catches the eye of the people that pass by our table at fairs is the little mountain with 3 crosses, and we love to tell them the story about one of the symbols of our city. It is said that 482 years ago, when Cali was founded 3 crosses were put on top of the hill to prevent the devil from getting in, but what they didn’t know was that the devil was already inside! And those 3 crosses are the ones that, until today, prevent the devil from leaving the city, that’s the reason why it is believed that the devil lives in Cali!
